All homework assignments will be posted on the web.
Excuses like "I didn't know what the homework was, My dog
bit my computer, My grandmother
died, I didn't have enough time to do the work, The network was down",
etc.will not be accepted!
Start working on your assignments as soon as they
are handed to you. Do not wait until the last possible moment.
All written homework, unless otherwise specified in the
assignment, must be your own work. "Cooperation" on homework
is not permitted!
Programs that are substantially the same as other peoples programs or
programs from earlier semester will receive a grade of 0!
I will deduct 5% of the score for each day pass the due
date
(multiply the grade by 0.95^n were n is the number of days the homework
is late).
Homework that is handed in after the assignment was handed
back will not be graded.
To motivate everyone to start early, any homework
assignment handed in more than 24 hours early will automatically earn
5% bonus.
online submission is via the Eclipse system (see
below: How
to submit a programming homework assignment ).
You must verify that
your homework was successfully submitted!. You will not recieve any
credit
(at any time) for online sumissions that failed.
If you are not sure what to do or you don't understand
something DO
NOT HESITATE TO ASK!! My job and the TA's job is to help you
learn.
There are no stupid questions!! We will do
whatever we can to help you
learn, but you must tell the TA and me that you need our help. We can't
guess
what the problem is. Use our office hours and/or email to communicate
with us.
